If you’re interested in trying out the other-other web browser (a.k.a. Opera), they are offering free registration of their ad-free browser today only as part of a promotion to celebrate their 10-year anniversary. From the download.com Opera download page:

For one day only, you can get an ad-free version of Opera. Simply e-mail registerme@opera.com to obtain a registration code. This offer is valid from 12 a.m. Tuesday, August 30 to 12 a.m. Wednesday, August 31 2005 (PDT).

I’ve never actually tried Opera myself since the ad-free version is not free and I’m quite happy with Firefox. With this promotion, though, I think I’ll at least give it a look. I’ve heard many good things about it.
