Fail is a four letter word
I don’t quite understand why people think children should grow up in a bubble:
The word “fail” should be banned from use in British classrooms and replaced with the phrase “deferred success” to avoid demoralizing pupils, a group of teachers has proposed. Members of the Professional Association of Teachers (PAT) argue that telling pupils they have failed can put them off learning for life.
Some people don’t seem to realize that children need to develop and mature on their own by dealing with experiences. This includes failure, confrontations, and other displeasing situations. If we shield them from everything difficult during their most important developmental years, they won’t know how to act when they actually encounter these situations in their adult lives.
I say we enclose all children in their own individual bubbles. This would solve all of our problems. Somebody needs to debate this in a committee meeting somewhere.
